Well I have changed it up abit, haven't done much stitching in awhile. One thing I do know is that my eyes aren't as good as they used to be. These pin keeps were fun to make, major change from rug hooking. I think as long as it took me to stitch these I probably could of made 2 rugs. I still have some wonderful stitching patterns that I want to do, but for now I will finishing hooking my rug that is started on the frame. Oh yes did want to mention that both of these patterns are offered by Country Stitches.

UPDATES FOR TDIPT

Well today I got this rug back out, I started hooking on it last year and had to put it aside for other things, I am determined to get this one finished and hopefully a few others I have started. This rug is probably the largest I have hooked on. With the pattern being on linen I am using 8.5 and 9 strips, love the wide cuts. I did get a #9.5 for Christmas and love it. Hope to have this rug finished by tomarrow evening.

I love this new blue wool I got. perfect shade for me. This pattern is by Country Stitches and will be offered on TDIPT.

This rug as well will be offered on TDIPT. I love this design, it is an adaption of an antique hooked rug.

Oh my goodness, is what I say about this new pattern!! I have not been doing to much hooking lately, alot of punch needle is what I have been doing. I have been Stitchin!!

I finished stitching this piece this morning, I love it. Stacy Nash designed this for the Malabar show this year.

I even got it completed. I haven't completed a stitching pattern in years. Stitching use to be my favorite craft to do. I did enjoy working on it, thank goodness I have glasses now, sure can't see the holes without them, geez that is a sign of aging, never had to worry about it years ago, such as life. I may even stitch up something else, so many great patterns out there, I want alot of them, so we will see!

I adapted this rug pattern from a doll pattern that Kim has designed(with her permission of course). Her Pumpkin Guy and the Stocking, I found to be so sweet, I asked if I could hook it, and she kindly said GO FOR IT. Well I am so pleased in how this rug turned out, I just love it. I hooked this rug on monks cloth and I used wool wrapped cording to do my binding. This rug measures 19 x 33. This piece is for sale, if your interested send me an email.

NEW PATTERN

Last Saturday, I attended a Hook-in at Kingwood Center, and so fabulous it was. I go t to see alot of hookers I haven't seen in awhile, and I got to meet Betsy from Heavens to Betsy. Betsy is just the sweetest you'll ever meet. She brought along lots and lots of wonderful wool. Yes I did buy lots, as well as the pattern above. I was so excited to get this pattern. I worked on it this week and this far it is all hooked, just need to bind it and steam it. I do love how it turned out. It is an adaption of an antique rug. This is a nice size it measures about 27 x 35.
Well the weather here in Ohio is crazy!! It is either so hot you cant breathe, or turns so cold you have to wear sweats, sick of it!! I want some nice summer weather, with no rain please!!

Well its been awhile since I posted. I have been able to get some hooking done, not as much as I would like to have done. I updated my page on To Dwell in Primitive Thymes, so if you get a chance stop by and take a look at all the new offerings for June.
We have been doing alot of outside work which has been enjoyable since all the rain has finally stopped, but now the temps are crazy, it is 56 degrees this morning, I do like the hot weather, so I am waiting for that to happen again.

Here is my newest rug I have started, I really love it so far. This rug is the biggest pattern I have worked on. I keep telling myself, not to do big patterns but I so love this one. This is a pattern by WOOLEN MEMORIES and it measures 22 x 43. This one will take me awhile to do, other commitments have to be done first. Finally the rain has stopped here and we actually seeing the wonderful SUN again!! Always makes for a better day.

NEW FINISHED RUGS

I Love this rug!!! This pattern is sold thru Spruce Ridge Studios and is a design by Lori Brechlin. This one took me about 7 days to hook, was glad to finish it up. I really don't like working on one project that long, always anxious to move onto next project.

I finally did get this one whipped and steamed, I also love how it turned out! This is a pattern by Country Stitches.

I love this rug alot!! Feeding the chickens!! This is also a pattern sold thru Spruce Ridge Studios and another of Lori's designs.

Well last week we had some really nice storms move thru here, and we were one of the fortunate ones to get hit good by lighting, took out several items in the house. Fried our NEW computer and modem so I havent had the internet since last Wednesday night, boy was that a bummer, also fried our home phone, phone lines still worked but had to get new phones. Right now I can actually say thank goodness for home owners ins. One thing I will admit, I sure do get alot done when I don't have the internet. We still dont have everything back in working order that was taken out but slowly working on it.

I am working on a new rug, I love it so far, I will post picture of it little later when I have more to show.

FRESH OFF THE FRAME

Finally got this rug hooked, took me 4 days, way longer than I want to spend on one rug, but it is a nice size. I love how it turned out, I just love the eagle in this design! This is a pattern by Country Stitches. I still of course need to whip the edges and steam it up really good. This one will hopefully be headed to ebay tomarrow. But if anyone is interested in by all means email me before I put it on ebay. This will be the only one like this that I will make. Well we finally was able to get our yard mowed, seriously thought we might of had to get some goats if we couldn't get to it soon. No goats need now, but they would be fun!
Good thing I enjoy spending my days at home hookin, gas has reached $4.19 here, seriously this is just out of control, I do see people losing jobs again in this strong economy we have going(HA HA).
My heart just feels heavy for the families in the south that got hit by the tornado's!! I will keep them in my thoughts and prayers!!

Today in the mail I got a package from my Friend Julie Butler of PlumRunCreek, was totally surprised by this since we go to hook-ins together. Well awhile back she hooked up this welcome mat and I just feel in love with it. I told her to let me buy it and of course she said NO, so I let it go! She surprised me by sending it to me in the mail, now wasn't that sweet of her. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart Julie, and don't be gaging or puking over that, I appreciate your kindness and your friendship and I will forever cherish my new welcome mat!!! Isn't it sweet!!! Julie is a really great hooker and I love the colors she chooses every time!!

I am in love with this rug, so simple, love the colors and size, everything about it. I even dyed the wool for the background, yeah!!!

This is one of my most favorites, This is an adaption from an antique rug. I love the blue and brown together!! this would look great in my bedroom with my new bed and all, oh well.

I Love this punch piece!! Can you tell I am loving the blues and browns. I love the lavender shoots in this.

OK this isnt the best pic, sorry, but I love how it turned out as well. I attached the punch piece to a pillow I made from wool and ragged stuffed. I love the weight of it.

First rugs finished for 2011

First of all my fur babies would like to wish everyone a Happy New Years. They decided to pose on my bed while I was trying to take pictures of it. The little yorkie is Mugsey, and the other (yorkie-poo) is Vinnie. They are my gangsters. I love my babies.

This is what Santa brought me for Christmas, a new pencil post bed, oh my I just love it. It arrived Christmas eve, unfinished(that's how I wanted it), I got it painted black and then I used dk brown bri-wax over it. Well then with the new bed that meant I had to paint my bedroom walls, cause it just wasn't gonna match my bed or coverlet right, needless to say my husband thought I was a bit ridiculous, but hey they just don't understand. He did admit that the walls did look good. Now I have gotten fabric that I dyed to make curtains. That wont take long, I will have them done sometime this week. HEY JULS BUTLER WHATCHA THINK???

While I was getting my room ready I knew I needed a rug for over the bed, so I got up early, very early, and hook on my beautiful rug for about 3-4 hrs before it was time to get hubby up for work. Well I did get it done within the week also to hang, what do you think? I love it. It is a pattern by Wendy Miller that I bought when I went to Sauder's Village.

UFO Finish

Well almost!!!!

I started this rug back in the summer, put it aside. Decided to dye wool and guess what, yes I did I dyed the background wool that I planned on finishing this rug with. I dug through my piles and oh so lucky I found enough pieces of it to finish. I can't be doing that, I drive myself crazy. So my plan is finish what I start then I wont worry. Ha, I will see if I can stick to that. I have a few more started that I need to get finished. The rug shown is a design by primitive spirits, she has some really sweet designs. I still need to whip the edge and steam real good. Another thing that drives me crazy is all of the multiplying wooly worms, geez. I am going to try and do some rugs where I make myself only use what is cut. I was going through some today and yes craziness!! I know many rug hookers have this same craziness so I am not alone. Monday Night Hook-in

Usually twice a month there is a small group of us that get together at Katie Allman's home for hook-ins. Her basement is set-up like an actual shop and she has lots of wonderful wool. Besides all the wool, I just love to go and be with my wonderful Hooking Friends. Below are some pouches that I made for gifts to share with some of the girls. I am always losing my hook, scissors or what ever it may be in the bottom of my bag, so decided to make pouches for the girls to keep their necessities in, and myself of course.

This is Tony the Snowman, he is a sweet pattern by Betty Dekat. He is just the happiest snowman ever.

I love this rug, I think it turned out very primitive looking.

I love the blue that I used in this mat. I think this also looks very prim. This is a great pattern by Lori Brechlin.

This rug is also very prim looking, the red used in this rug is a really great textured wool, I wish I was better with my camera to get the true coloring.

These 4 rugs will be offered later this evening on TDIPT. Wasn't sure if I was going to be ready but I managed, I got these 4 done in 2 days, so you can imagine what my house looks like. Well I am putting the hook down for a few days to clean and get ready for Christmas.

Well it is still very cold, but oh so nice and sunny, that makes everything better. Finished whipping the edges of these 2 rugs this morning.

I love this Santa rug, the red used in his jacket and in the rug below I hand dyed myself. I am very pleased, usually me and the dye pot do not agree on colors. This is a Teresa Kogut pattern.

This rug, I just love, it is Country Stitches partridge in the pear tree punch pattern. I punched it and as I worked on the punching, I thought it would make a great rug, so I hooked it also. Well I would much rather have the hot days of summer! I am not in for this cold stuff, I will be spending my days inside with the warmth of the wood burner!!!

Oh how I love this rug!! This pattern I purchased from Spruce Ridge Studio, designed by Lori Brechlin. This is my rug I started at my first rug camp back in June. Well after camp I put it aside to work on other projects. Well, with this being my birthday week, I decided to finish my rug for my birthday present to myself. Wasn't that nice. Fall Hooked Rugs Finished

This rug is full of Autumn colors, I love it!! This is a design by Needl' Love. I have it listed on e-bay now under myglorystars.

This rug was fun to hook, I drew this one up myself, I absolutely the the textured piece of wool that I used for my background. I hooked this in 8.5. I am loving that cut!

This is a sweet design by Lori Brechlin, I loved how it turned out. I love hooking fall rugs and snowmen rugs, but I am so not ready to do winter rugs yet.

Finished a Few Fall Rugs

I love how this little guy turned out. This is a pattern by Lori Brechlin. I did the beading technique with 2 shades of oranges around the outside of this rug, it is hard to see in the picture.

This rug, OMG I have been wanting to hook it every since I seen it on Maria Barton's blog. I love it!!! I sewed old buttons on for all their eyes. Two of the pumpkins have the beading technique for their mouths. I hook this rug using 8.5 and 9, which I lov using, first time I have ever used my #9. I usually hook on monks and it is to hard to use the #9 on, but this pattern was drawn on linen, and made it real nice to use #9. I was able to attend Sauder Village this year, and it was really nice, but the bad part was I bought way too much, so now I need to keep on hooking. I hope to maybe get these listed on ebay tonight.

Finished some new Fall rugs

Well first I am showing you my babies in the pool, my dogs love to go swimming, well the bigger one does more so than the smaller one. The smaller one pretty much just likes to float on the mat.

Here is a really cute fall rug I finished up, it is a pattern from Needl Love. I decided to use some color in this one to make it fun. I normally don't use colors like those but decided it would look great in a rug like this.

This rug, I love it, it is a design by Lori Brechlin. The wool I used in the pumpkin is a reversible wool, hard to find any more of it, but I must say it is a beautiful piece of wool.

I have both rugs on e-bay right now, if your interested take a peek(myglorystars).

I have been trying to figure out what I am going to make for my show coming up in Sept. I really need to quit thinking about it and make something before it is here and I am not ready.

Yes that is right, I spent the past weekend at my first rug camp. As you can see my class I took was with Kris Miller(Spruce Ridge Studios) and Wendy Miller(Red Saltbox). I had so much fun, now I want to go again. I went along with my friend Katie, pretty much last minute, and so glad I got the opportunity. Kris and Wendy are both very AWESOME. Well the weather here in Ohio has been really great, I love the cool mornings and the warm sunny days. I have been cleaning out stuff. I think most have stuff that someday you'll use and just hate to get rid of, well I am getting rid of those things, probably only to refill spaces through the summer by going to garage sales and thrift shops. Terrible cycle for me.

I did manage to get some rugs hooked last week, which is very satisfying to sit and hook. Hopefully this week before it's over I need to do Mother's Day gifts and put a quilt together for someone.

Well, I have been really busy getting ready for a show, it is this Saturday, so after that is over, I can get back to hooking and punching. I also have been invited to TDIPT Mercantile and I have some offerings there for you to view. If you can stop by and take a peek. Hooked rug for Spring

I hooked this rug with the wonderful thoughts of SPRING. The colors I used in it are blues for the bright blue sky, yellow for the warm golden sun, lilac and pink for the fresh spring flowers and the green of course for the fresh smell of the new green grass, ahh doesn't it make you want Spring BAD!! Does me. Well this rug I used a pattern by With Thy Needle and Thread , I love her patterns. I listed this on e-bay. My e-bay ID is myglorystars. Hope you check out my items.

Well I have to say my husband has totally spoiled me!!! He is awesome!!!! I got the townsend cutter for Christmas and he also surprised me for Valentines day with the snap dragon frame. He has been listening to me talk with the girls. I liked that my old frame had the turn table on the bottom, and if snapdragon had that they would be the best !! Well he attached a turn table for me, I didn't even know he did it, it matches the wood in the frame perfect I though he purchased it that way, he told me NO he did that, so I have a one of a kind. I am just so excited about my gifts!!!

I have been working on orders, and now I really need to get serious on making things for my up-coming show in April. Thanks for stopping by!!!!

New rugs I have hooked

This rug turned out great, the overdyed brown wool I used was just perfect for the brown crocks. This is a pattern by Primitive pieces by Linda, she has some really great pattern, I own a few, I just need to make them. This rug a hooked a few weeks ago and already has a new home.

Ok this rug is just so SWEET, I love how it turned out. I used medium prim tones in this rug. This is another great pattern by With Thy Needle and Thread.

I don't have as many items to post right now, I have been busy this week working on orders, so maybe next week I will have some new items to share. Thanks to stopping by.

I love this rug, the colors I used in this rug are overdyed wools, I love the variety of color from dyed wools. This is a pattern by Robin of Bird In The Hand Primitives. Her things are so sweet check out her blog for her patterns.

This bunny pinkeep pillow is a pattern by With Thy Needle and Thread. Love her things also, I have many of her designs.

This rug is a pattern by Primitive Pieces by Linda, she has some really awesome patterns. This pattern actually is an applique pattern, but I decided to hook it.

This is another sweet punch pattern by With Thy Needle and Thread.

I hooked this bunny rug using another With Thy Needle and Thread Pattern. Same with the bird below. Brenda had alot of new offerings her last time around and I guess I needed them all. Love them.

I also have been doing some quilting, I have gotten 3 lap size quilts finished. Hope to post those next time. Hope my work has inspired you and given you warm thoughts of Spring, SOOOOON it will be here.

Well I am just as happy as can be. I got the mail today and Angie from Lovetheprimlook sent me a package. Inside was the most wonderful doll and puppy!! I absolutely love them both. Thank you Thank you Angie, your work is beautiful!!!! Here she is, isn't she great!!

I have been doing alot of hooking I do have several rugs that I have completed, most are gone to a new home. Here a few to show ya. The first 2 I have on e-bay right now(myglorystars). The first rug is one I did a while back just never finished my edging, Now it is completed. It is a wonderful pattern by Maggie Bonanomi. This rug if done in rich warm tones of browns and creams. This next rug I have done is full of Spring, I wanted to do something with some colors I don't normally do, plus just a change up for the warmer days, I am SICK of WINTER.

The next 2 rugs have found their way to new homes. I love both of these rugs. The first one is an adaption of a Maggie Bonanomi pattern. The colors in this rug were just gorgeous. And the bottom rug is an adaption of a pattern from Thy Needle and Thread. I love her patterns.

I have also been trying to get a quilt done. I have the top pieced now all I have to do is get it layered and quilt it, by machine of course. No time to hand quilt. Hopefully I will post a pic when I get it done. It is a pattern by Primitive Pieces by Linda. I also love her things. Well that is all I have to share right now, I will try and get back soon with more items I have finished.

Well I would have to say I am feeling alot like others, I am sick of winter!!! Come on Spring!!! I have been keeping busy with hooking. This first rug with the crows was made for a friend. She received it today, and very pleased, I must say. Thank you Angie for all you do.

I love this next rug, I needle punched it a few weeks ago, and decided to hook it. It is an adaption of an antique rug.
Here are some hearts that I hooked, and a sweet punch needle of the sheep. The sheep design is by Primitivebetty. Thanks Betty for all your wonderful designs.

Back on Track

Now that Christmas and New Year's is over it is time for me to get back in the swing of things. The holidays were nice, but I am also glad they are over. I still have IOU's to do, (maybe I will have them done by next Christmas), but I have been wanting to hook and punch. The past 2 weeks I have been able to get some things done.
I punched this design and placed it on a fabric covered box. I have it on e-bay now, with the rest of my other listings here.

I absolutely love this piece, I added some blue, I am hearing that blue is back, I have always liked blue, so I am glad. This piece is an adaption of an antique hooked rug. I have it mounted on a painted and stained box.

Thes are some punch designs that I placed in 5 x 7 frames, I love how they turned out.

I just love this rug, very prim in color. I couldn't get the picture right on this piece with the camera, it is not at all bright, nice and prim.

Well that is all I have to share right now. Tonight is my hooking night with the girls so maybe, if I don't forget my camera I can post what everyone is working on. Usually my friend Julie does this but she isn't going tonight, bummer.

I have gotten a few rugs done since my last post. I also have been getting ready for my show, which is tomarrow. Alot of work. This is my first time to do this show, so I hope all goes well. I hope to post some photos of my both later in the week.

This rug, I love it, is a design by Kelley Belfast. This snowman just looks so festive in his Santa outfit. I hooked in wool roving for the fur on his hat, and his coat. I have listed this rug on e-bay tonight.

This snowman just looks so happy, I think he is so sweet, he is a design by primitivebetty.

This rug is one of my favorite adaptions of an antique rug. Love how it turned out.

I just sold this rug on e-bay, I love how it turned out also, I used wool roving for St. Nick's beard.

This rug just looks so old fashion, I just can not get the color right with my camera, I have tried several different times. The background squares are done in all differnt shades of browns. The rug I am working on now is for an order, for an anxiously waiting person. I am just as anxious to get it to her, I know she will love it.

Well, I have been busy hooking rugs. I just listed this on E-bay last night. I love how this turned out, I hooked roving in for his beard. This is a pattern by Lori Brechlin, love her designs. I am going to try and work on some snowmen and santas and try not to be so focused on hookin. So we will see.

Today I am headed to the Simple Goodes Show in Mt Vernon. Last year was my first time to go and I loved it!!! I am excited about going today. I am going with a couple of girlfriends that have not been there yet, I can not wait for them to see, they will love it also!!!

Hooking, yes I have been!!

Well I have been really into my hooking lately, I haven't done it all summer and now I am addicted. This is my Butternut House Rug finished, I absolutely love how it turned out. I would have to say the background I used in this rug is one of my favorite wools.

I rarely do many rugs with Santa, but thought I would do one, and I really love how this turned out also, the background I used in this one is an overdyed textured, and I just love it. I have this rug on E-bay right now.

Okay this rug and the next one are so darling. They were alot of fun to do. I just love happy old snowmen. Both of these rugs are Kelley Belfast designs, her designs just make me smile.

Well, I probably will put my hooking away for now, I have a craft show that I really need to concentrate on, it is Dec 5th, I not yet have anything ready for it, but I can get it done once I set my mind to it. I have started some punch needle projects, so that is a start.

Tonight is Trick or Treat in the town my sister lives in and she has 3 youngens, so we are going over there to see all the scary children. It is fun to see them all. I don't think I could get my boys interested any more, seeing that they are 21 and 26.

Some finishes to share

This rug I did this past spring, it is a punch needle design by Country Stitches, I was given permission to enlarge and hook. I love how it turned out. It's a good size 25 by 19.

Thes are just 3 of the dolls I got done this past week. I did 6 dolls, I now need to find places to display them, I have plenty of spots, just not sure where to put them yet.

This is my rug in progress, it is another design by Maggie Bonanomi. I love her designs. This design is from the book With These Hands. She has a new book out and I can't wait to see it.

I finally got this rug finished from Maggie's book. I love it, love the colors in it, the size, everything about it. I still have to steam it and finish the backing, but that won't take long. This is a nice size rug also it measures about 20 by 27. I do not know where I will put this one yet.

This is another rug I finished this past week. I have had this little bench for a long time and always wanted to hook something for it, so I finally made a list and put it on the top, now it is finished and I love it. I whipped the edges on this one. This one measures 8.5 by 46. Oh yea, the model in the picture is one of my babies, his name is Vinnie. Vinnie decided this past week not once but twice to play with a skunk, how terrible. He is finally smelling better and so is my house.

Tonight is my Hook-In so maybe I will have some more photos for tomarrow. I always look forward to our hook-ins, great friends and chit-chat, and beautiful rugs.

This punch design is my own design, I love how it turned out. I think the brown wool I used in the pillow just makes this look so warm

I love this pillow, this design is one of Lori's of Notforgotten Farms. I just love her designs, would have to say one of my favorite artist.

And this hooked rug, the snowman just makes me smile. I think he is just warm and happy looking.

I hope to start working on some santa and snowmen dolls and maybe some quilting. I have so much to do I want to do, and just don't know where to start.

I have totally ripped my living room apart, sick of looking at the same old, so I have to get it put back together, so far I am pleased with my changes.

This a punch design that has been adapted from an antique hooked rug that I love, I also had this enlarged to maybe hook sometime.
